    I was having some problems with my Astro connecting and staying connected and one of the problems identified was a faulty antenna. I replaced the original with this one and most of my problems went away. I did drop the Astro and it landed on the antenna and it broke where it screws on. I would have thought it would have been a good deal more durable but it came apart in my hand. I replaced that with a new one hence my review.

    I have two of these. My opinion is subjective and is not based on any type of scientific data. Standing side by side with other trackers on the stock short antenna, it performs just as good as the stock stubby, plus it won’t poke your eyes out if it’s in your top shirt pocket. The stock shorty is rigid and will break of flexed too far.

    Standing next to people with longer stock or aftermarket antennas……. I can track everything they can track. The only antenna I’ve seen that this one can’t beat is a truck mounted antenna.

    It’s flexible. Durable. And it receives very well. You can pocket your tracker without fear of snapping off the antenna or busing the antenna mount.
